Benevolence Hubs Bringing Good On Multiple Levels
At the Social Enterprise Benevolence Hub, operated by Mustard Seed Global, our primary goal is to create a lasting impact by running a social enterprise that directs 100% of its profits towards community development projects. We are currently in the process of establishing a benevolence hub in partnership with the East New Britain Provincial Government, specifically in Kokopo, East New Britain.
The hub comprises several initiatives aimed at uplifting the community. One of our main features is a bakery accompanied by a cozy coffeehouse, as well as an express supermarket. These facilities not only provide quality products but also serve as spaces for corporate meetings and training sessions for our paramedic teams. By empowering these teams, we enable them to serve the community more effectively.
In collaboration with the Provincial Government, we have also launched a youth traineeship program at the hub. This program aims to rehabilitate juvenile offenders through alternative methods, offering them an opportunity for personal growth and development. Additionally, we host sewing workshops and other skill-building programs to promote self-sufficiency among individuals. These initiatives play a crucial role in fostering skill development and empowering participants to create a better future for themselves.

Furthermore, our hub houses a Leadership Institute program, which focuses on identifying and empowering young leaders from Papua New Guinea. By nurturing these individuals, we ensure a brighter future for the nation as a whole. To expand our impact, we have ambitious plans to establish a cancer clinic within the hub.
This clinic will serve as a beacon of hope, offering effective referral services, comprehensive treatment planning, and ongoing support for individuals and families affected by cancer. Through this initiative, we aim to improve the lives of those facing this challenging illness. By sharpening our focus on these various endeavors, we are committed to making a significant and meaningful difference in the community, guided by our vision of social and economic transformation.
An Opportunity At Life For Job
Imagine being 16 and ending up in jail for drug trafficking to try to pay for your school fees! This is Job’s story (he is in green). He faces 5 years in jail.
But our social enterprise youth traineeship offers Job an opportunity to rehabilitate outside the prison system and to develop skills to get work or start a micro-enterprise business. This will give him a fighting chance at a good life.
Moreover, our vision includes a cancer clinic within the hub—a beacon of hope, providing an effective referral, treatment planning, and follow-up for individuals and families affected by cancer.
